Architectural Design + Research

Studio Apposite is an architectural design and research practice based in Victoria, British Columbia. The studio operates through two parallel bodies of work: a client-facing architectural practice focused on residential renovation and alteration across a range of scales, and an independent research and publishing program dedicated to the study of regional architectural history and theory.

Practice

The studio approaches architectural practice as a form of applied design inquiry, shaped by the specific attributes of the building and site and informed by a close working relationship with the client. Projects are developed with attention to proportion, material sensitivity, and buildability, balancing design intent with the realities of construction and use.
